Most beginners don't even attempt to work out what their opponent has. You know your cards (you can see them) - so try to think about your oppenents cards . this - and it is a vital part of the game. See our fundamentals course for a detailed lesson on this.
In short - you can use some or all of the following:
How often is your opponent in pots? More often he can have a wide Range of cards - very Tight means he has a much narrower range.
His betting pattern; is he betting every street?
His table image - is he wild - has he been bluffing a lot?
Your image - what does he think of you - do you Fold most of the time if someone bets etc.
A good tip is to try to put your opponents on hands - when you are not in the pots! it's great free practice
