Observing your opponents

To become a winning player you have to  watch (either live or from betting patterns online) what your opponents do - the number of hands they play, their style of play and their betting patterns. then use this information to help you work out what hand ranges they are likely to have in hands against them. you should also use this information to decide whether to sit and play against them in the first place.

To become a winning player you have to Balance your play - whilst there are "standard lines" most winning players take in given scenarios - you should Balance your play by not always doing the same things. Trying to deceive your opponent as to the strength of your hands is a key element in poker. Balancing the way you play scenarios will allow you to Bluff more successfully and also get paid on your bigger hands.
